I would appreciate some feed back on this so that I can proceed my Disk Imaging. Regardless of the Version, the behaviour of my FORMAT/SYS function appears to be strange. I could not find the Version of DOS used on Win98SE but I believe it is 7.01 or later which is required to work with Norton Ghost 2002. My question is what could cause the 1,694 byte file on my Hard Drive to end up as an empty file on my floppy. Otherwise, my machine seems to be working normally. I have reinstalled Win98SE from the original CD to see if that would correct the problem but I still get the same results. Also, when I open the file with Notepad I find a note saying that this file needs to be larger than 1024 bytes. Looking at the properties of that file on the Hard Drive of my Win98 PC, it shows as a 1,694 byte file.
The process goes smoothly and I get no error message, but when I look at the contents of that floppy, here is what I find.
On a Win98SE PC, I format a 1.44 floppy with system files. I have Windows 2000 Pro, Norton Ghost 2002 and a Aopen CRW1232 on a Intel Based PC and I need to install MS-DOS files to this computer before I can create a Standand MS-DOS Boot Disk for use with Norton Ghost on a single computer.
